Many fandoms have evolved because of the different personalities, identification, and points of connectivity among people. To me, FRIENDS is perhaps one of the most significant and comforting fandoms, and it is this reason why so many people identify with it, even years after it all began and ended. The show was about young adults who are beginning to create their identities, rely on each other for everything from advice, to friendship, to fulfilling goals, and always having each other’s back, sailing through their life to discover what it held for them. The show became an icon for similar young adults who rely on friendships when they, too, leave the comforts of their younger lives under the protection of parents and strive forward, making mistakes, learning from them, and tackling every challenge thrown at them.
